Het is knap gethematiseerd en zeer gedetailleerd. Maar mooi kan ik het niet vinden. Dat had ik ook al bij de films, dus heel vreemd is dat niet 🙂

    Progress Same here! Sinds David Yates het creatieve roer overnam is de Wizarding World van verwonderlijk naar voorspelbaar gegaan. Met als een van de dieptepunten de black vormgeving van het Ministerie. Dat doet me vrezen voor de serie die eraan komt. In hoeverre durft die écht een eigen karakter te gaan krijgen, in plaats van slechts een afgeleide van de bestaande Wizarding World stijl? Met al deze miljardenprojecten op de rol kan het toch haast niet zijn dat dezelfde franchise een compleet andere serie gaat releasen? Ik zou het logisch vinden, maar wel jammer.

      Universal had het er eerder al over hier in de wachtrij te gaan werken met forced perspective schermen. Ik dacht dus dat het volledige gedeelte in de foto hierboven een scherm was
      BLIJKT DUS VAN NIET!!!

      De cirkels hier in de achtergrondlaag gaan dus forced perspective schermen worden.
      Ik was nog even aan het herstellen van de vorige foto’s. Dit kan er ook nog wel bij 😅

          Ik zie hier dus vooral een halve Hidden Mickey in.
          Deze zalen zijn wel immens groot, wauw. Persoonlijk vind ik dit wel een van de interessantere locaties van Harry Potter, iets wat in de films altijd turbosnel erdoorheen gaat en toch onderbelicht blijft. Ik verwacht dat een aantal attractiescenes ook bizar groot blijken te zijn, mede door het ritsysteem...

              Dat zijn behoorlijke vlammen. Benieuwd hoe veel ze dat effect laten werken. Bij die draak van Gringotts was bij mijn bezoek geen spatje vuur te zien.

                    An uninformed comparison: the Universal dragon is a static figure, while Efteling’s dragon moved ánd breathed fire. So not a matter of maintenance; Universal just went for the easy, cheaper way. I’ve always found that disappointing given their huge budgets.

                        Progress Efteling also went cheaper way to turn off fire and moving edna animatronics figure eventually. Also same happened with aquanura recently. Turning off fire effect, excuse on carbon oxygen while new beacon of light effect is lacking.

                        You should remind that universal used to create stuffs like kongfrontation and jaws. Both were maintenance nightmare like draak edna. Built way before than joris en de draak.

                        Animatronic was partially fixed it few years ago with only moving heads. But that broke again one years ago, still heaven’t fixed yet.

                        Also for the simbolica, whale has been broken more than few years and recently fixed as well

                        Lets be honest Efteling is pretty slow on maintaining overall. Still bit better than what Disney does.

                        Still I do agree that universal studio Florida has lots of screen based attraction rather than practical. They created pretty lazy attraction for sure and It’s most weaker universal park in states. But IOA and epic universe is utilizing way more physical effects and most advanced animatronics. Also rather than taking too much time to fix or maintain ride such as fata and dutchman in Efteling, universal has been doing stellar job restoring original effects and maintain, refurbishing rides soon as when they find a problem thesedays. They are even expanding coaster garage for Hagrid even though it’s not necessary. Just for guest convenience, also renovating and adding more animatronics on Jurassic world ride after heavily criticizing was nice touch as well.

                        Both are amazing park, valuing theming and attention to detail. But currently, I think universul does better job to take care and maintaining attractions, effects.

                            Simonland What you should take into account in your comparison between Universal and Efteling is the vast difference in financial resources between the two parks.

                            Besides, the overall number of practical effects and animatronics in Efteling is way larger than in Universal, which, as you say, has only recently started moving away from using screens for almost everything. So I would argue that in Efteling there are way more things that can break down.

                            Another important difference is that Universal has a history of removing older attractions, while Efteling makes it a point of keeping them. Meaning that the maintenance burden increases every year. And I would argue that maintenance in Efteling is quite good; at any day in the year there are multiple maintenance projects underway. But again, there are so many effects that it is impossible to have everything working all the time. A problem we also see in the Disney and Universal parks.

                            Finally, most people on this forum visit Efteling many times in a year and the Universal and Disney parks once every few years at most. So obviously we notice broken effects in Efteling sooner than in Universal.

                                Begrijp ik het goed dat de vlammende wieken van die molen onderdeel gaan worden van een soort showtje?? In dat geval zal het ook maar beperkt gebruikt worden (wat gezien het verbruik begrijpelijk is), maar ga ik er wel van uit dat die showtijden gecommuniceerd worden. In welk geval dat dikke prima is wat mij betreft. Dan weet ik wanneer ik er moet zijn om dit eens in het echt te zien (lijkt me wel vet namelijk).
